Individual 1:1 Aphasia Therapy and Consultation
Our approach is collaborative, it’s data-driven and follows the best practise guidelines. Our team is interdisciplinary, combining the best practises across Speech-Language Pathologists, Board Certified Behaviour Analysts and Social Workers. We aim to empower our clients with aphasia as we join them on their journeys.

How it Works
• Services begin with a consultation to learn about your goals and what you’d like to achieve.
• An assessment then helps us better understand where you currently are on your path, your skills and unique challenges.
• From there, in tandem with our professional team and yourself, we select your treatment goals, which are highly individualized. And every step forward, even the smallest, is celebrated. These are goals that are relevant, meaningful and are created to impact your daily life.
Investment
Our individual therapies are offered weekly and one-on-one:
Speech Language Therapy
• 1-2 hours per week, $175 per hour with a speech-language pathologist (SLP) and $110 per hour with a speech language pathology assistant (SLPA)
Social Worker Counselling
• 1 hour per week, $175 per hour
Group Therapy,
Community Aphasia Programs
1/3 stroke survivors have aphasia. Many others do too. While no two paths are the same, come together with those who share something in common with yours. Build confidence and communication in virtual, grouped-based programs. Feel supported by friends and professional therapists and take steps forward together.
Our Non-Profit Partners
The Halton-Peel Community Aphasia Programs make our community programs available to residents within:
• Halton Region, Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills etc.
• Peel Region, Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon etc.
Details
• Our groups and sessions follow a life participation approach, focusing on enhancing communication and quality of life.
• Each of our therapy sessions are facilitated by Speech-Language Pathologists and Communicative Disorders Assistants, with the support of registered Social Workers, trained volunteers, and students.
Investment
• 1-2 hours per week for one year, $0-$10 per session.
Aphasia Small Group Therapy
Feel empowered by your team of professionals and by individuals with shared experiences and goals. People who truly understand your path, can provide encouragement and join in celebrating even the smallest of victories. Matching peers based on similar or contemporary goals, this is a cost effective way for those with aphasia to improve their communication skills.
Details
• Small groups consists of 2-3 members and is facilitated by a Communicative Disorders Assistant with supervision from one of our Speech Language Pathologists and our Board Certified Behavior Analyst®.
• Each week you and your small group meet virtually for 1.5 hours over the course of 12-weeks.
Investment
• 1.5 hours per week for 12 weeks, $75 per session.
Intensive Aphasia Program
This program is the only one of its kind in Ontario. We are leaders in this space, aiming to help individuals with aphasia meet their goals in a life participation approach. We focus on enhancing communication and quality of life. This is a unique and intensive 12-week curriculum that aims to achieve your own set of specific goals that are created with the help of our dedicated team.
Overview
• Our interdisciplinary team provides high quality treatment focused on using the best evidence available. Following an initial assessment, together we create your own set of specific goals tailored to your communication needs and the expertise of our interdisciplinary team.
• With these goals we build a unique and intensive 12-week curriculum that includes one-on-one sessions and group sessions (when available).
• This program includes a caregiver training component, where family members are trained on how to support your goals.
• A post-assessment and a comprehensive final report that details maintenance programs for at-home practice and training for family members on how to support your newly established skills.
Investment
After a stroke or brain injury, the brain needs a lot of repetition. Our intensive aphasia program provides that repetition to help you get back to your life.
This completely virtual, 12-week program is comprised of 12 hours weekly, over 3 days per week and is a monetary investment of:
$13 000 - $15 000 for the whole program.
